How to participate as a funder

RAMP brings together national and regional funding organisations to support and coordinate research and innovation funding across the raw materials value chain.

By joining RAMP, funders can help shape transnational calls, align national and regional priorities, and support international projects that contribute to a more sustainable, resilient, and circular raw materials value chains.

Who can participate?

RAMP is open to national and regional funding organisations with a mandate to finance research and innovation.

This may include:

• Ministries

• Research councils

• Innovation agencies

• Regional funding bodies

• Other public organisations supporting raw materials-related activities

Funders can join by committing a national or regional budget to a RAMP call.

This allows you to fund applicants from your country or region. This also enables you to contribute to strategic activities, policy dialogue, and networking and collaboration actions organised through the Partnership.

What does participation involve?

Funders participating in RAMP can take part in the preparation and implementation of RAMP’s Joint Transnational Calls.

This may include:

• Contributing to the development of call topics

• Defining national or regional eligibility rules

• Supporting proposal evaluation and selection

• Funding successful project partners according to national procedures

Funders can also engage in wider Partnership activities, such as strategic workshops, liaison groups and networking events, international cooperation actions and policy-support activities.

These activities help connect research and innovation funding with industrial needs, policy priorities and long-term challenges across the raw materials value chain.

Why participate?

Participating in RAMP enables funders to:

• strengthen international cooperation in raw materials research and innovation

• increase the visibility and impact of national or regional funding programmes

• connect their research and innovation communities to wider European and global networks

• contribute to shared priorities linked to sustainability, circularity, resilience and strategic autonomy

• reduce fragmentation by aligning funding efforts with other countries and regions

RAMP provides a structured framework for cooperation, while allowing funders to retain responsibility for their own budgets, eligibility conditions and funding decisions.

How to get involved?

Organisations interested in participating as funders can contact the RAMP Coordination Office or relevant Partnership representatives to discuss opportunities for involvement:

Participation may take place through future Joint Transnational Calls, strategic cooperation activities, liaison groups or other Partnership-level actions, depending on the organisation’s mandate, priorities and available funding.

RAMP welcomes funders that want to contribute to long-term, coordinated, and impactful research and innovation on raw materials.
