How RAMP funding works

RAMP is funded through a combination of national or regional funding and EU support. Learn more about how Joint Transnational Calls work, including eligibility, consortium requirements and project funding work.

Seventy percent of the RAMP budget comes from the partnering national or regional funding agencies. The remaining thirty percent comes from the European Union. These funds support research and innovation projects as well as the partnership implementation and additional joint activities.

    Joint Transnational Calls

RAMP plans to launch seven annual Joint Transnational Calls for funding beginning in 2026. Each call will be announced on:

    • The Partnership website
    • The EU Funding & Tenders Portal

Each project consortium must include at least three partners from three different countries. At least two of these must be EU Member States or associated countries.

    Application and evaluation process

Each RAMP call will involve a two-stage application and evaluation process.

    • Stage 1: Pre-proposals
    • Stage 2: Full proposals

Like other EU co-funded partnerships, RAMP uses the Electronic Submission and Evaluation System for both application stages.

    How projects are funded

Once full proposals are evaluated and selected, funding is managed at national or regional level.

Each partner in a successful consortium receives funding directly by the relevant national or regional funder in accordance with its eligibility criteria.

Any EU contribution awarded to a project is transferred to the project partners through the relevant national or regional funder. The transfer is coordinated by Vinnova as the RAMP coordinator.
